Control a PC with the Kinect. DIPAX GhostHand^® is a software for touch-free control of a computer using gestures. Hand motions are converted as mouse pointer motions and certain gestures such as grasping as specific mouse clicks.

A Microsoft Kinect Xbox One 3D-Sensor (not included) is required to detect the user. DIPAX GhostHand^® makes it possible to use this affordable and technologically advanced sensor with a PC. The sensor can easily be connected to a USB port.

Every Windows program (eg PowerPoint or other), which can be operated with key combinations and/or with the mouse can be alterntiv controlled with DIPAX GhostHand^®.

Depending on the situation, the sensor should be positioned above, below, or in front of the monitor (or projection screen).

How it works:

The 3D sensor – which consists of an infrared light unit and a special grayscale camera – transmits all necessary data every 30 seconds to calculate depth data of all objects within the sensor’s field-of-view. Based on this data, using special image processing algorithms a 3D model of the person standing in front of the sensor can be calculated in real time.

This task is handled by the DIPAX GhostHand software package. DIPAX GhostHand^® extracts the user’s hands from the 3D model and turns hand gestures (hand motions, grasping, waving) into corresponding computer control commands (moving the mouse pointer, mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts).
